The Alumni Association of the
A provision of the Alumni Scholarship fund raising drive allowed anyone contributing $20,000 over a 5-year period the privilege of naming the scholarship. One alumnus, Mr. John W. Lehman, class of 1934, made that contribution and as a result, one of the alumni scholarships bears his name. This is a separate scholarship.

John W. “Red” Lehman
Forestry Scholarship
John W. “Red” Lehman, a
native of
Mr. Lehman spent his entire
professional career with the TVA in the Division of Forestry. He pioneered much
of the cooperative effort and policy for the management of the Valley’s forest
resources. When he retired from TVA, he was Assistant Chief, Division of
Forestry. He died in October 1998.
