Research Area: Development
of Vitrification for Genetic Banking of Endangered
Aquatic Species.
The
overall goals of my project are to develop
streamlined protocols that can be integrated into a
standardized approach for vitrification of aquatic
species germplasm, and to couple this approach with
conventional cryopreservation to establish germplasm
repositories for small-bodied fishes which are
disproportionately threatened and endangered (and
essentially overlooked) throughout the world.
