Lee Memorial Forest

Lee Memorial Forest is a 1,210 acre research forest located in Washington Parish between Franklinton and Bogalusa on Hwy 10.  For over 65 years, it has served as a hands on teaching facility for many Renewable Natural Resources students.  The facility was named after the professor who taught the first forestry classes offered at LSU, Professor J.G. Lee, Sr.  It is today's model forest for teaching, research, and demonstration.  Although the forest was impacted by Hurricane Katrina,  it is on the road to a full recovery.
