Courses Taught

Past and Present

Courses:

bullet

RNR 1002 (1) Issues in Natural Resources.   Students explore natural resource issues through readings, discussion and presentations

bullet

RNR 2001 (3) Dendrology. Identification, distribution, ecology, phenology of common trees, shrubs, and vines

RNR 3034 (2) Field Studies in Dendrology    Exposure to woody plant species encountered in southeast Louisiana.

bullet

FOR 3061 (3) Forest Ecosystem Ecology.  I believe an understanding of ecological processes and functions is the building block from which
we appreciate the role of forests and other ecosystems in our lives.  An understanding  of these basics is necessary for sustainable use of our
natural resources and becomes ever more important as population increases.

bullet

RNR 3105 (2) Forest Biology.    Students learn the basics of forest biology through exploration and discussion.

bullet

RNR 4061 (var. cr.) Special Problems in Forestry. Each semester, I  help interested students select projects and develop undergraduate
research projects. Several undergraduate students have conducted research projects and published results in journals or symposium proceedings.

RNR 4061 (1) Forest Insects and Disease. Students are exposed to forest insects and diseases through exploration of the literature and  by their
delivery  of classroom presentations  and construction of posters

bullet

RNR 7001(3) Research Methodology. Planning, conducting and reporting research in renewable natural resources.

bullet

RNR 7004 (4) Forest Ecophysiology.   Class includes lectures, discussion of current literature, field trips to special field installations,
Hands-on lab demonstrating and allowing use of state-of -the-art instrumentation and techniques for assessing physiological responses
of forest trees to environmental stresses.

bullet

RNR 7071 (1) Forestry Seminar (Graduate Course)

Blackboard Courseware is used as a means of communication of course materials and assignments.
