Bluebonnet Swamp

Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center is a 101-acre tract of land administered by the Baton Rouge Recreation and Park Commission (BREC). It is dedicated to conservation, education, recreation and tourism. The facility consists of a 9,500 -square-foot Nature Center Building that houses the various educational and hands-on exhibits. Surrounding the Center, is the 65-acre cypress-tupelo swamp (which you can experience in the image above) and magnolia-beech upland hardwood forest with dramatic ravines. These two ecosystems are linked by a series of trails and boardwalks constructed to allow visitors the opportunity for exploration and provide a magnificent view of the site.

Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center is located at 10503 North Oak Hills Parkway (off Bluebonnet Blvd south of I-10) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
