  • HABITAT: urban, old home sites
  • RANGE: introduced from southeast Asia
  • USES: over-used ornamental
  • Best Recognition Features:
    1. smooth to flaky bark
    2. flowers and capsules on large terminal panicles
    3. alternate, thin, obovate leaves

    NOTES:   at old home sites, when it isn't flowering, you could possibly confuse this with common privet (opposite leaf arrangement)
