These photos are mostly from the Biological Dynamics of Forest Fragments site, north of Manaus, right in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon. In 2007 we surveyed the birds in forest fragments of 1, 10, and 100ha. The team included LSU grad student Erik Johnson, our intern Claudier Vargas, transplanted to Manaus from Campo Grande, in the southern Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, and veteran local woodsman Jairo Lopes.
