iPIX^® Navigation

The Virtual Tour images on the Louisiana Ecosystems site use a Java Applet to display the 360° interactive panoramic image. The images are best viewed with the most recent version of Java (which can be obtained here). Navigating full 360° iPIX® images is easy. Instructions are included for both the Windows and Macintosh platforms. There is also a section at the end that talks about Keyboard navigation that applies to both types of operating system platforms.

Hint: The cursor drives the image slowly if held near the center of the picture. The closer the cursor gets to the edge of the picture, the faster the image moves.

Windows Users
	Notice that when the placed in the image, the cursor becomes a four-arrow icon. To move inside the image, HOLD DOWN your left mouse button and drag the cursor in the direction you wish to move. The two-arrow icon appears as you move around the image to indicate the direction of movement.
	ZOOM-IN:  click and hold slightly ABOVE the center of the image ZOOM-OUT:  click and hold slightly BELOW the center of the image
Mac Users

All Users
V.4.0	The last two versions of the Java Applet have the ability to display an imbeded toolbar. If these appear in an immersive image, you may use the magnifying glass with the plus symbol to zoom in closer, and the magnifying glass with the minus symbol to zoom out.

Keyboard Navigation If a mouse isn't hooked up to your machine or you just prefer keyboard navigation, it's still easy to navigate Java Full 360-degree images. A crosshair icon will appear in the center of the image when using the arrow keys to move left, right, up, or down in images. To move quickly, HOLD DOWN the arrow key which points in the direction you wish to move. To zoom closer into images, press the plus key. To zoom further out of images, press the minus key.
